OKX vs Bitget: fees, product and licenses by country
By the NexoTrade team · Checked on October 18, 2026
OKX charges a bit less for trading at market on futures (0.05 % versus 0.06 %) and is the only one of the two authorized under MiCA: if you live in the European Union, the code opens your account with OKX Europe. Bitget allows more leverage and also has copy trading of bots. Both are registered as PSAVs in Argentina.
Depending on how you trade
- If you live in the European Union: OKX, which serves you through OKX Europe Limited, authorized under MiCA. Bitget isn’t: it says it has applied for authorization in Austria, and in the meantime you use it at your own risk.
- If you trade futures with high leverage: Bitget allows up to 150x on BTCUSDT; OKX, 100x outside the EU and 10x inside it. Above 20x, a small price move liquidates you on both.
- If you trade at market: OKX charges 0.05 % as taker on futures and Bitget 0.06 %. As maker, both charge 0.02 %.
- If you do copy trading: both let you copy other traders on futures and spot; Bitget also lets you copy bots. In the European Union, the OKX website only shows spot copy trading.
- If you live in Argentina: both are registered as PSAVs with the CNV.
- If you’re worried about the security of your funds: both publish their proof of reserves every month. Bitget suffered a theft of about 388 million dollars on September 24, 2026, which it says it covered with its protection fund; we don’t know of any theft of customer funds from OKX.

The buttons are in alphabetical order. If you live in the European Union, the OKX account is opened by OKX Europe Limited, authorized under MiCA. Bitget isn’t authorized under MiCA: if you live in the European Union, you use it at your own risk.
Fees, with the same example
Opening and closing a 10,000 USDT position at market on BTCUSDT costs about 10 USDT on OKX and 12 USDT on Bitget, not counting funding. With a VIP level, the fee goes down, and each has its own conditions.
Futures and copy trading
Both have USDT perpetuals. OKX allows up to 100x on BTCUSDT and Bitget up to 150x, but that changes nothing if you trade sensibly: more than 20x is very risky. If you live in the European Union, there are no perpetuals: you get X-Perps, five-year futures from OKX Europe Markets Limited, with up to 10x. Cross or isolated margin
Copy trading: OKX, for futures and spot; Bitget, for futures, spot, and bots. What a trader made before says nothing about what you’ll make, and their losses get copied too. In the European Union, the OKX website only shows copy trading for spot.
